Dominique and Elizabeth Roberson were the paternal grandparents of Simon Roberson Sr.  They were the proud parents of seven sons: William, Amos, Isaac, Nick, Peter, Phillip and Lenard.  From this great family came Simon Roberson's father, Peter Roberson.

Peter and Scharlotte Roberson were the parents of three children: Simon, Carrie, and Boyd.  On the 1st day of November 1886, Simon Roberson Sr. was born.  His family lived in Natchitoces Parish.

He married Margaret Bowels in 1903: to this union 14 children were born: John D., Nathaniel (Uncle Buddy), Orea (Sister), Samuel, Queen Ann, Scharlotte I, Josephine, Ninnie, Avaniel (Manuel), Simon Jr. and Evelyn.

Simon Robers's second wife was Beatrice Blow.  She was affectionately called "Mama Bea" or "Miss Bea."  Scharlotte II, and Mack Henry was born from this union of marriage.

Victoria Palmer Roberson was Grandpa's third wife.  To this union, there were no children born.

Simon Roberson believed in Genesis 2:18, "And the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone;" so therefore, he found another help mate for himself.  She like his second wife was also named Beatrice.  Beatrice became Simon's fourth wife in marriage at the home of Rev. Athan and Scharlotte Roberson Cowthran.

Grandpa was a strong believer in The Lord Jesus Christ and served him faithfully unto death.  He received Christ in the year of 1904 and joined the St. Paul B.C. in Burmuda, LA.  In 1954, he united iwth The New Zion B.C. in Frierson, LA by letter, where he served as a deacon until his death.

He was a very talented man.  Many songs were written by Grandpa and sold for ten cents a copy.  Some of the titles were: Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dying Bed, Nobody Loves You Like Jesus, If You Can't Go, Please Don't Hinder Me, and If Anybody Ask You Who I am, Tell Them I'm a Child of God.

Beginning in 1957, Grandpa's birthdays were celebrated atthe home of Rev. and SIs. Athan Cowthran, Sr. at 514 East 75th Street in Shreveport, LA.  This became an annual event celebrated in Natchitoches, Shreveport, Haughton, and Alexandria by The Roberson family.

Simon ROberson Sr. departed this life on October 23, 1971.  He was 84 years old.  A family reunion was formed to celebrate his memory.  We thank God for the celebration of his birth and the celebration his memories.

The ROBERSON FAMILY is alive and blessed through the grace and mercy of "OUR LORD SAVIOR AND JESUS CHRIST."
